Dr. Chris Sauer has 25 years experience in the information technology (IT) industry as a computing professional, consultant and academic.

Prior to joining Saïd Business School at Oxford University, Chris was deputy director of the Fujitsu Centre for Managing Information Technology in Organisations, located at the Australian Graduate School of Management in Sydney.

The author of many books, chapters and journal articles, his research interests include management of IT-based organizational transformation, project management including project risk management, management of IT infrastructure, E-commerce, the transfer, diffusion and adoption of IT, and software quality inspections.

Chris's current primary research stream seeks to improve IT project outcomes through knowledge and risk management. For the PM Perspectives team, his research projects include prediction of project performance and the evolving role of the project and program manager.

Chris has conducted consulting and training assignments for a wide range of private and public sector organizations. He was also principal author of the 1998 Australian government report, Information Technology in the Building and Construction Industry.

In the international community Chris holds a number of positions including joint editor-in-chief of the Journal of Information Technology.

Outside of academia he enjoys cross-country skiing, great food and good friends.
